Official Meta WhatsApp Template Character Limits (2026)
Header Limit: 60 Chars
Text headers can have up to 60 characters and support 1 dynamic variable (e.g. Hello {{1}}). Alternatively, headers can be an Image, Document, or Video.
Body Limit: 1,024 Chars
The main message content supports up to 1,024 characters including emojis and line breaks. Variables must be numbered sequentially: {{1}}, {{2}}.
Footer Limit: 60 Chars
Optional muted disclaimer text at the bottom. Cannot contain emojis, formatting, or dynamic variables.
Button Limit: 25 Chars
Up to 3 Quick Reply buttons or 2 Call-to-Action buttons (Phone Number and Website URL). Each button text is capped at 25 characters.
